I have a kindle USB cable, and I have transferred the books into the “documents” folder and the “books” folder on my kindle, and I still cannot view them. Yes, they are pirated……is there some security thing with the new Kindle Fire?

I’m planning to buy a WiFi only Honeycomb tablet(say xoom or acer a500). But I don’t have any wifi router now, though I’m planning to buy one later. So, for the moment, how can I download android apps from the android market and install it to my android device?
I’ve heard a lot of pros and cons about the new Kindle Fire. But most of the cons I’ve heard are from people comparing the Kindle Fire to their old kindle devices and ipads. I’m getting the kindle fire for someone for Christmas, and the only thing they own that is remotely similar is the iPhone. Will this Kindle Fire be a good gift? Or is ignorance not really bliss?
I was just about to buy a regular six inch kindle when I saw a commercial for the kindle fire. MY QUESTION: Because I already have an iPhone 4 and the kindle fire might be crap anyway, should I get a regular kindle? Or the kindle fire? Or the kindle touch?
I rarely actually talk on my phone. However, I send/receive about 40-50 text messages per day. If I decide to get the Kindle fire, would it be practical to rely on using the web browser to send/receive text messages through my email account? Is there some extra fee for this? I don’t want to carry two devices around everywhere. Thanks.
I have several season tv show dvds and would like to load at least one for an upcoming trip rather than have to purchase the season just to watch on the kindle fire. Is there a way to upload it from the dvds onto the kindle? If so, how would you go about doing that?

I am looking at purchasing the new Kindle Fire, but I was looking up information on it and it had mentioned something about being an amazon prime member. Do I need to purchas this in order to order books off of the Kindle or can I still purchas music, movies, and books without it?
I am considering getting either the Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet in the next month or so. I’m concerned about the screen display on them though since they aren’t like the e-ink. I was wondering what everyone’s experience has been with the Nook Color (since the tablet hasn’t been released yet) and the Kindle Fire, if anyone has one of those yet. Also, for those that read right before bed time, does it affect you falling asleep?
I got Kindle Fire rooted and everything seems to be working well. However, when I installed Jorte calendar to use with my Google calendar, it won’t sync with my google calendar. When I go to Options-Select Calendar, “Select Calendar” and “Choose Calendar” radial buttons are all greyed out. Those are the ones that user can choose which Google calendar to sync. How do I make this work?
